One of my favorite aspects of travel is the opportunity to volunteer within local communities, especially in areas I'm passionate about, such as food, art, education, and girls' empowerment. During my recent trip to Ghana, my mother and I had the privilege of volunteering with the Fafali Organization's after-school programs. We connected with the children and learned about their interests, which was incredibly enriching.
While sustainable travel often takes the spotlight, the benefits of volunteer travel are equally significant. Capturing photographs of beautiful landscapes is enjoyable, but forming genuine connections with locals and contributing to their communities offers a deeper and more meaningful experience.
This summer, I plan to work with art professionals from around the globe, connecting them with aspiring young artists. This initiative aims to create pathways to knowledge, resources, and connections that will support their ambitions and guide them towards a successful future.
