Art, much like us, also seeks a place to call home. One might think they choose a piece, but in reality, it is often the artwork that selects its admirer. Art possesses the power to transform, evolve, and enhance our lives, lifting us to new heights by awakening aspects of ourselves that have remained untapped for years.

As a collector, I have learned that while researching artists and their works prior to an encounter can be prudent, it is not always the most effective strategy for acquisition. There have been instances when I entered a gallery intending to purchase one piece, only to find myself irresistibly drawn to another.

When selecting art, multiple approaches exist, but I firmly believe that the best method is to choose a piece that resonates with you emotionally. Such a piece may accompany you for many years, making it far more rewarding to love and appreciate it as part of your family rather than relegating it to a mere addition to your collection.

On you next visit to an art gallery, allow yourself to be drawn to the pieces that resonate with you. Personally, I gravitate towards works that convey joy rather than pain; however, it is essential to acknowledge that pain is an unavoidable facet of life that we must also embrace. Be open to experiencing a range of emotions and consider works that might not align with your usual preferences, as they may reveal layers within you that you never knew existed.
